The Rings

The symbolism of the exchanging of the rings during the vows has its roots in an ancient Roman tradition. The left ring finger is directly linked to the heart by means of a vein that is actually called the “vena amoris”. The idea of connecting yourself with a ring to another person in a promise of eternal love came about from this tradition.

Therefore, taking the symbolic value of wedding rings into consideration, the selection offered to the future Bride&Groom is based on their personal tastes and preferences for them to choose the type and material.

Tradition has it that the rings are in yellow gold with the name and date of the wedding day engraved on the inside, but today fashion also proposes white gold and platinum rings.

Mantovana”: a flat ring with a wide, taller and often heavy band Traditional”: a semi-coloured ring that is slightly flattened from the arch
Francesina”: the queen of the rings, very fine and slightly rounded Classic ring”: an extremely simple ring, but a refined band with bevelled edges.
Intertwined ring”: made from two circles from a more modern design

YIW will:
- recruit jewellery specialists that have the most beautiful designs;
- have the names of the Bride&Groom and the date of the wedding day engraved inside the rings;
- create the ring-bearing pillow in the same fabric as the wedding dress;
- make sure that the witnesses have the rings with them for the ceremony.
