Venue & Menu
The reception is the most demanding aspect in the organisation of your wedding. This is especially true in Italy where the exquisiteness of the food and wine, and the care that we take in its preparation and presentation, makes a wedding celebration a unique event.
According to your preferences, with YIW you can choose to have an event that is classic or innovative, original yet discreet, simple or extravagant, romantic and elegant, or imaginative and modern.
In all instances for YIW, it is essential that the reception is completely harmonious in its main elements. Consult the information in the following sections for further detail.
In organising the reception, YIW will:
 |
- |
recommend the best arrangements for the time of day when you have chosen to get married (morning/early or late afternoon) and in line with the style of the reception chosen; |
 |
- |
manage the choreography of the venue with the trimmings, decorations and lighting; |
 |
- |
manage the arrangement and the laying of the tables and buffet; |
 |
- |

 |
- |

Arrangements at the venue
Generally speaking, those who marry in the morning will offer a traditional wedding breakfast or a simple cocktail party with a wedding cake. Instead, those who marry in the early afternoon will offer a party with a wedding cake. Those who decide to get married later in the afternoon choose to offer dinner that is perhaps followed by a party with some dancing.
The arrangements at the venue consist of the structural decorations already present in the place, and the addition of lighting, floral and candles decorations and laying and arrangement of tables. Each of our receptions are arranged so that the table service or buffet-style catering is prepared and presented in a refined and tasteful manner, and that the tables are equipped with precious long tablecloths and with elegant service of porcelain plates, silver cutlery, pure crystal glasses, floral centres and small details, such as place names, serviette holders, silver candelabra and printed menus.

Type of service and seating plans
There are a variety of possible solutions that YIW can offer you in terms of service for the relative seating plans. For example:
 |
- |
"Table Service": a classic service whereby all the courses are served to the guests who remain seated at the table for the duration of the wedding breakfast; |
 |
- |
"Traditional Buffet": all the courses are available as a buffet. Once they have been served, the guests can then go back to their seats in a discreet and organised manner; |
 |
- |
"Island-style Buffet": all the courses are served as a buffet, but they are grouped together on individual tables: cheeses & cold cuts island, seafood island, pasta & rice island and meat & fish island, crępes island, mushroom & fried vegetables island... |
 |
- |
"Buffet & Tables": the starters and desserts are served as a normal buffet or as islands, and the main courses (pasta or rice courses, meat or fish courses and side dishes) are served at the table. |
Consequently, the guests can be seated in different ways:
 |
- |
"Old Italy": it is pleasant to set up one small, straight table when there are only a few guests or as a horseshoe shape with the Bride&Groom in the middle of the short side; |
 |
- |
"Traditional": on tables with six or eight places, round or rectangular, arranged opposite the table where the Bride&Groom are seated; |
 |
- |
"French Style": the traditional version, but with the Bride&Groom seated with the witnesses and friends; |
 |
- |
"Free Style": on tables with six or eight places with no set places.
It is the responsibility of YIW to ensure that the service is carried out naturally, as well as distinguishing itself for high-class professionalism and courtesy, while observing the timing agreed with the Bride&Groom. |

Menu selection
In choosing the menu, YIW shares its solid culinary experience and wine expertise with those of its selected caterers in order to guarantee the correct harmony of the courses and the perfect combination of drinks throughout the whole menu: welcome cocktails, starters, pasta and rice courses, meat and fish courses, side dishes, cheeses, desserts and matching wines.
The principles that have always guided the YIW Team in directing the Bride&Groom are that a menu must have the following requisites:
 |
- |
be varied, rich and stimulating; |
 |
- |
be served in the correct order and coherence of the courses; |
 |
- |
its inviting presentation; |
 |
- |
made with food that respects the season when you are marrying; |
 |
- |
suitable on tasting every course; |

Wedding Cake
The wedding cake takes pride of place at the celebration and, together with the sugared almonds, it is the pleasing conclusion to the banquet in an act of extreme sweetness. It is important to designate a suitable room for the cutting of the cake and the final toast as it is the moment that is photographed the most.
YIW believes that the fundamental requisites of a wedding cake are excellent quality and beautiful appearance as well as freshness and lightness in order to not run the risk of turning a sweet and pleasant moment into a heavy one.
You can indulge your fancies in choosing a wedding cake from a variety of forms:
 |
- |
"Tiered cake" for great visual impact; |
 |
- |
"English-style cake” or "Pyramid", typically English, made with cubes or cylinders arranged in pyramids and decorated with ribbons, flowers and leaves. |
 |
- |
"American-style cake”, multi-tiered in sponge cake and completely covered in marzipan: a real sugar-paste sculpture |
 |
- |
"Chapel cake”, only three tiers with a round base with approximately 1.5-metre diameter; |
 |
- |
"Classic single tier cake", simple yet hugely successful in Italy, can be personalised and deco-rated to your liking; |
 |
- |
"Total chocolate cake", suitable for winter weddings, filled and garnished with white chocolate inside and out; |
 |
- |
Personalised cake: shaped as a heart, flowers, wheels, wedding rings, doves, with your initials. |
Sugared almonds distributed after the toasts, included in the favours, arranged on the buffet or on the tables are from the ”Old Sweets Factory of Giovanni Mucci established in 1894”.
